AKA Cap'n Eddie Castelin
You probably found me through YouTube. Here are links to all my current YouTube Videos. I'd appreciate comments, good, bad or indifferent. I already know that I'm full of myself, somebody has to be.
A commercial version of this jig will cost you $44.95 plus freight. I'll show you how to make it for under $2.00. If you make it of steel, and buy a new drill and tap, you're still under $10.00. You should be sending me a check after you watch this. You know, just for saving you all those $$$$.
(it took me 10 years to dream this up and 15 minutes to build it)
A simple block of wood works like a shield
A set of calipers to help you determine the golden mean in your turning.
During my tenure as President of The Bayou Woodturners, I instituted a program of a warm-up demo at the meetings called "minis". The purpose was to share a quick tip, trick or technique to turners in order to save them time, make a project click, or save some $$$.
That changed about 2 years ago when I left office and that caused me to find YouTube as an outlet for that information. That's why you don't see me turn a bowl for 30 minutes, or other drawn out projects. My philosophy is simple, "I can teach you how to use your tools, turning is up to you"
I'm the current President of The Bayou Woodturners and Minis are back in the program.
I create these videos as an informational tool for teaching woodturners technique. I share what is shared with me and I appreciate your input and comments.
Most of these have came from suggestions from you. If you want something special, or would like me to explain something I have done, just ask.
By the way, it was input from you that got me to put a stick on my tool to show the twist. See how that works in this video: one...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7qbOCTsgM8
